Cord
Braided tubular cords, flat tapes, and plied lacing cords
Atkins & Pearce cord is the perfect textile solution for applications that require strength and durability. We can create high performance textile alternatives to traditional steel cable applications using lightweight high performance fibers. Creating unusual hybrid cords with custom engineered yarns, twisted and plied in-house are all possible at A&P.
Industry leaders worldwide in the automotive, appliance, construction, consumer electronics, homegoods, and sports equipment markets depend on A&P to deliver solutions.
Our manufacturing process allows us to meet exacting tolerances consistently. This results in superior quality levels and below average waste levels. And our vast production capabilities translates to speed-to-market for you.
Types of Cord A&P Manufactures
- Braided Tubular Cords.
A&P manufactures cords manufactured with or without cores in standard & diamond configurations for tensile & electric motor stator lacing applications. Tubular cords exhibit high abrasion resistance and high strength. Diameters from 0.030" – 0.250". - Braided Flat Tapes.
We also manufacture tapes for all tensile and electric motor stator lacing applications. Widths range 0.010" – 0.500". Tapes also braided for carrying handle and other tensile applications. - Drapery Cords.
A&P designs & produces cords with various covers and cores to suit specific strength, stretch, and stiffness requirements. Size capabilities range from #1 for mini-blind pull-cord application to #5 for traverse rod applications. - Braided Twine - Nylon, Polyester & Other Fibers.
A&P braids twines from all types of fibers, especially nylon & polyester, ranging in size form #4 through #72. - Plied Lacing Cords.
A&P’s thousands of twisting spindles produce 3-ply and 4-ply lacing cords from polyester and nylon for electric motor stator lacing applications. We can also acrylic-coat cords for higher abrasion resistance and knot retension.
In addition, A&P’s post-processing coating capabilities allows customers to add secondary performance enhancements like color, slip control, ultra-violet light resistance, and chemical adhesion.
